Welcome Back!

Now that students have returned from holiday break, it is time to prepare for LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation). This is what used to be called Festival. At LGPE, we are asked to play 3 pieces as close to perfect as possible, and 3 judges will let us know how close we come to doing so. The band will also be judged on sight reading (I will have a blog on this later!) Toward that end, the three bands at LSHS (Concert Band, Concert Winds, and Symphonic Band) will have several after school rehearsals and sectionals. These are required, and are necessary for our success. Below is a letter that will be sent home on January 8 and 9. Please look for it! Dear Band Students and Parents, Below is the schedule between today and March 13. All rehearsals and performances are required. As always, please inform us of any conflicts as soon as they are known, and then complete a make-up assignment. We are working toward our LGPE performance, which is our major event for the year.
