We are so excited to formally announce the appointment of Mr. Jacob Mercer as our new Director of Bands! We are so excited to welcome him into the Lion’s Den and begin working on a great school year!
I am ecstatic to be at Lithia Springs and to work towards a common goal of musical excellence! I want to support all the students in a smooth and happy transition while also establishing the foundation of the Lithia Springs band program! I am a student-oriented teacher who values the students I serve and respects them where they are on their high school journey!
You’ll quickly learn that I am a huge logistics person! So, in that fashion here’s what you need to know for band camp!
Pre-camp: July 18-22 (1-5p)
Band Camp “all days”: July 25-29 (9-8p). * Subject to change to 9-5 - the final call will be made during Pre-camp.
Please register for band camp using the jot form link! This is how we will know instrumentation and drill numbers for the show. All of this is WAY late and behind, but we have people who are cheering for us and willing to help with a quick turnaround. Please note that the commitment fee will not be required until Friday the 22nd after you’ve had the time to assess if you want to commit to the marching band. Commitment fees will be due for final processing on August 5th - two weeks after the window opens for payments.
There will be a Director meet and greet this Friday, July 15th at 7 pm and will last approximately 40 minutes. This meeting will give you the chance to put a face to the name! This will be a virtual meeting via Zoom. Those details will be posted on the Blogspot later this week.
