Band to Perform in Carrollton

The LSHS Roaring Lion Band will be performing at the Legacy of Champions Marching Band Competition at Carrollton High School on Saturday, October 10.  The band will be meeting at the LSHS band room at 11:30 am.  Performance time is 3:10, and the awards will be presented at 9:00 pm.  We should be back at LSHS around 11:00 pm. Please see a detailed itinerary below.

Students should eat lunch before they arrive, and will need to bring money for dinner at the stadium, and for any souvenirs they may want.  Concession prices are quite reasonable!  Most food items are $5 or less, and drinks are $1 (water)- $2 (sodas and Powerade).  $10-$20 should be enough.  Students should also wear comfortable clothes under their uniform (including the band t-shirt), as we will be changing out of the uniform after our performance.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Anderson at paul.anderson@douglas.k12.ga.us.

Alumni Invited Back for Homecoming!

The 2015 Homecoming Game will take place on Friday, October 2 vs. Hiram.  All alumni are invited to participate in the pregame show.  We will have a rehearsal on Friday, October 2 starting at 5 pm.  We will rehearse for about an hour, and then have time to spend with current members.  Last year, we had over 20 former members participate, and we would like to increase that this year.

Orlando Trip Meeting to be Held

A meeting for all those registered to go on the Russell Athletic Bowl trip in December will be held after the regularly scheduled Band Booster meeting on Sept 15.  We will discuss mode of transportation to be used, any extras we wish to do (restaurants, etc.), and determine a final cost.  See you there!

Sign-up Information for the Orlano Trip

To sign up for the Russell Athletic Bowl trip to Orlando Dec 26-30, you must complete the following steps by Sept 11:

1) visit the website http://hp.educationaltravel.com (or click the link)
2) Click on the "Register Now" button on the right hand side of the page.
3) Enter the trip ID: 121428
4) Complete the security exercise under the Trip ID field
5) Enter all requested information.
6) Read the terms and conditions.
7) Submit your completed form.

After you register, you will receive a confirmation email verifying completion of your registration.

You will also receive an invitation to join a program called MyTrip.  This allows access to Discovery for Credit where you can complete the required course work to get free academic credit.  A MyTrip account should only be created if the student desires to enroll in the on-line course work.

If you experience any problems completing this process, call Customer Service at 1-800-651-0468.  This number is for technical support for the registration process only.

You must also have paid at least $250 toward the trip to the Band Boosters by Sept. 11.

Once registration is complete, a decision will be made as to the type of transportation to be used, and a final cost will be calculated.  This will be determined at the Band Booster meeting on Sept 15.
