LSHS Flute Day a Success!

Ms. Hannah Rudy, Band Director at Chapel Hill High School, worked with the LSHS flute players after school on Monday, January 12. She stressed developing a consistent tone through working on long tones, developing a vibrato, proper hand position and technique, and proper embouchure. She spent a good deal of time on the difference between aperture and embouchure, and the importance of each. Ms. Rudy is a former member of the UGA Redcoat Band, where she also served as drum major her senior year. She is in her third year of teaching overall, and her second at Chapel Hill HS. The flute players truly appreciated her taking time to come and work with them, as she is busy getting her own band ready for LGPE.
